Actor Giancarlo Esposito has just given an update on season 3 of The Mandalorian. We shouldn’t have to wait very long.
It was Disney+’s first original series. At the time of its launch in the United States, the platform relied heavily on the license Star Wars to attract subscribers. The success was there for The Mandalorian, to the point that a second season is directly engaged. Again, the public enjoyed the trip and a third round of episodes was ordered.
However, as new Star Wars productions emerge, viewers have had to be patient. It’s been almost a year and a half since Mando made his last foray on Disney+, and we still haven’t seen him in a solo adventure. The next meeting on the platform is set for next May, with Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Next, the Rogue One spin-off will air. The Mandalorian season 3 should thus take over at a date so far undetermined. Giancarlo Esposito, who plays the antagonist Moff Gideon, has just entrusted some information on the subject to The Rich Eisen Show.
“You will have it soon. I have a few things to do in that regard to put the finishing touches on what I’m doing, but I think it will be this summer. No date set yet, but coming soon.”
This would therefore leave little room for Andor to be broadcast. One can imagine that the month of August is privileged. It will nevertheless be necessary to wait for Disney+ to decide to confirm its information.
What can we expect from season 3?
Disney+ subscribers didn’t have to wait for season 3 to see Mando and Baby Yoda again. Both characters appeared in the first season of the Boba Fett book. The opportunity for the two accomplices to reunite, after their separation in the end of season 2.
Grogu ultimately chose to abandon his training alongside Luke to reunite with Din Djarin.
Together they should go in search of the living waters of Mandalore. This is the only way for Din to regain his status as a Mandalorian. After removing his helmet in the presence of other people, he was banned.
