we take stock of the next seasons of new series

The Star Trek universe has known an incredible expansion in recent years, with several original series strongly tinged with nostalgia for some of them, while others are frankly out of the ordinary to the delight of fans (the oldest like the younger ones!).

Since the launch of star trek discovery in 2017 (season 5 is scheduled for 2023), the universe created by Gene Roddenberry in 1966 recorded a notable revival of interest from fans, which was already visible with the films of JJ Abrams. This success prompted Paramount to produce new series. There is now something for everyone, so much so that you can get lost in the catalog! We take stock.

Strange new worlds

Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard comes to an end. The last episode will be broadcast on Paramount+ on May 5, to follow in France on Prime Video. The new adventures of Jean-Luc Picard (the ex-captain of the Enterprise from the series The New Generation), still played by Patrick Stewart, will continue in a season 3 already planned.

The same day, the trekkies will be entitled to the first episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds ! Highly anticipated by fans, this creation should reconnect with the pioneering spirit of the original series and for good reason: the USS Enterprise is commanded by Captain Pike, Kirk’s predecessor in this position. With his team in which we find a very young Spock, he will set off to discover strange new worlds.

Part of the cast of star trek discovery is back for the occasion, since we will find Anson Mount (Pike) and Ethan Peck (Spock) there. For the occasion, Rebecca Romijn joins the adventurers of the Federation as Number One. The first season will have ten episodes, unfortunately no French broadcaster is offering the broadcast for the moment.

There are also animated series. Star Trek: Lower Decks, lighter and wackier, is already in its third season which will be broadcast during the summer. Season 2 of Star Trek: Prodigy is scheduled for the end of the year.
