After exploring the corridors of time in Loki, Tom Hiddleston arrives on Apple TV+. The actor will be showing The Essex Serpent next May.
Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Tom Holland, the Marvel stars are more than welcome on Apple TV+. This time, the platform recruits the star of Loki for his new production. A change of register for the actor, who will camp here a pastor who must face a mythical creature in the region of Essex.
Adapted from the eponymous book by Sarah Perry, The Essex Serpent tells the story of Cora, a Londoner who leaves her abusive husband to settle in the village of Aldwinter. She discovers a local superstition that affirms the existence of a mythical creature known as the Essex Serpent. The animal would have returned to the region.
To portray the main character, Apple TV+ calls on Claire Danes (Homeland). She will give the reply to Tom Hiddleston, Frank Dillane (Sense 8), Hayley Squires (The Extraordinary Life of Louis Wain) and Clemence Poesy (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire).
The writing is ensured by Anna Symon, to whom we owe Mystery in Troubled Waters and Mrs Wilson. In the production, Apple TV+ calls on a Bafta-nominated director to The Arbor in 2011. This is Clio Barnard, to whom we also owe DarkRiver and Ali & Ava.
