Netflix has good news for impatient fans!

On Twitter, Netflix announces the start of filming for The Witcher season 3. Obviously, we won’t have to wait another two years.

The fans of The Witcher have largely had to take their troubles patiently between the first and second seasons of the adventures of Geralt de Riv. The pandemic and the injury of Henry Cavill forced the production teams to revise their schedule, the accumulated delay being too great.

Nevertheless, we can hope that things will not take two additional years, at a time when filming is almost no longer impacted by the health situation in addition to respect for barrier gestures. On Twitter, the official account of The Witcher has just confirmed that things are progressing well.

Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan are finally reunited for the filming of the third burst of episodes. The family is complete, in the snowy scenery of Slovenia. This shot will not tell us much about the plot that will unfold in this season.

Fortunately, the platform does not withhold information and reveals the official synopsis of these new episodes. Obviously, Ciri is at the heart of a vast war to appropriate her powers.

“As the continent’s monarchs, mages, and creatures battle to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri on board to hide her, determined to protect his new family from those who would destroy her.

Yennefer, who has been entrusted with the training of the young girl, decides to take her to the fortress of Aretuza where she hopes to discover more about her powers. Instead, they find themselves at the heart of a political, magical, cheater-populated battlefield. They must fight back, do everything possible to avoid losing each other”.

For the time being, we do not yet know when this new burst of episodes will be broadcast. We can nevertheless imagine that Netflix chooses to do so at the end of the year, as was already the case for the two previous ones.

In the meantime, we should be able to satisfy our cravings for monstrous combat and fantasy with the spin-off Blood Origin. Presented at the end of season 2, the series developed by DeClan De Barra must be released on our screens this year.

Again, Netflix did not give a specific deadline. We will probably have to wait a little longer before we find out. We know, however, that the plot will be located nearly 1200 years before the birth of Geralt, when the very first witcher emerges. We will explore the events leading up to the conjunction of the spheres, when the worlds of men, monsters and elves merged into one.
